Help Wanted

City of Wessington Springs is accepting applications for a Public Works Employee.   Class B commercial driver’s license required or obtained.  Subject to drug and alcohol testing.  Must obtain water and sewer certifications. Will help street and electric departments as needed.  Excellent benefit package including SD Retirement, health, vision & dental insurance, AFLAC, and PTO. City employees will pick up tree branches, white goods (appliances), furniture, and carpet. All items must be sorted separately and placed horizontal in the street by the curb before 7:00 AM on Monday, May 11th, 2026 for pick up.  Items must be sorted to be picked up.  City Employees will be using the loader and skid steer for pickup.

UNAUTHORIZED WASTES INCLUDE: 

Household trash, cardboard, plastic, Styrofoam, foam rubber, other packaging materials, containers of paint, sealants, adhesive and similar wastes. These items are not allowed at the restricted use site and can be disposed of with your regular garbage service. 

 If there are any of these unauthorized wastes with your items for pickup the City will not pick up items at your residence. 

The City Employees will not pick up entire trees cut down, tires or batteries during this clean-up.

The City of Wessington Springs will not be responsible for any damage to lawns.
